turkeys for families offered by Steve Fulop

On Saturday November 17th our team will once again be distributing free Thanksgiving Turkeys to Jersey City families.

I recognize that these are tough economic times and many have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, but there is no reason that every family shouldn?t be able to have a family thanksgiving together. This year is our largest distribution of 4000 turkeys so there shouldn't be a request that is not met.  If you are interested in picking up a free large turkey to help for your thanksgiving please fill out the form below and someone from my office will be in touch with you. One turkey per family please, if you are an organization looking for a larger quantity, please call me directly at 732-895-7379

Please fill out form below.

BOOKMOBILE TO BE IN FRONT OF MAIN LIBRARY FOR 1 HOUR
WHILE CLOSED DUE TO STORM REPAIRS

JERSEY CITY, N.J.   November 14, 2012 – Hurricane Sandy left her mark on the Main Library in Jersey City in the most lingering way: Receding waters in the basement left destruction in its wake amidst typical developing problems such as mold. Hence, the need for $1.4 million in repairs, according to Helena Ruman Associates, the architectural firm for the Jersey City Free Public Library.
To the rescue: The Bookmobile!
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 15th, the Bookmobile will be stationed in front of the Main Library (472 Jersey Avenue) for one hour each day, Monday through Friday, from
4 to 5 p.m.
“The damage from this hurricane has not stopped me from doing all I can to make sure repairs are done as soon as possible,” said Library Director Priscilla Gardner. “Rest assured, every effort to re-open the Main Library is being done, from contacting FEMA to working directly with city officials and our architect to fast-track our remedial plans.”
Patrons can return library materials (books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs) from the Main Library at any branch, including the Bookmobile, when they are due. If that is not possible, all library materials gotten from the Main Library that cannot be returned during the Main Library’s closure can be brought back when the Main Library re-opens. All fines for those particular library materials will be forgiven.
For the latest on programs, events, and special announcements please follow the Library on Facebook or Twitter at Jersey City Free Public Library. Visit us on the web at  HYPERLINK "http://www.jclibrary.org"  for all information on the Library, including all press releases in The Press Room.
