Rose Cottage, release showcase by Kanibal Home
KANIBAL HOME INTRODUCES ROSE COTTAGE COLLECTION
Unveils New Upcycled Clothing Capsule for Spring 2011
April 9th, at 7 pm
Parlay Studios, 161 2nd street
Jersey City, New Jersey – Kanibal Home, a lifestyle store in downtown Jersey City, is continuing its focus on one-of-a-kind merchandise with the introduction of the limited-edition Rose Cottage by Kanibal Home capsule collection for Spring 2011.
Conceived as a way to honor process, elevate handmade and bring back the true craft of creating clothing, the line will include upcycled vintage apparel with modern styling. Each piece is conceptualized individually and assembled by hand. With pieces ranging from $10 to $200, the capsule includes signature items such as deconstructed blazers, hidden leather elements, unexpected finishings and detailed patterning.
"Rose Cottage was imagined as a collaboration between the shop and local artists that filled a void and fulfilled a passion,” said Kristen Scalia, owner of Kanibal Home. “To create a handmade clothing collection that was less about DIY and more polished; that paid homage to history and details; and that infused a sense of whimsy back into dressing up.”
The Rose Cottage collection was created along with designer Caitlin Makary, branding developer Jade Kuei and photographer Melanie McLean. This capsule continues Kanibal Home’s dedication to craftsmanship and quality, while maintaining the shop’s roots as a small business that works hand-in-hand with the local community.
Beginning April 9th the Rose Cottage by Kanibal Home collection will be available exclusively through Kanibal Home’s brick-and-mortar shop. The line is an extension of Kanibal Home’s eponymous brand of t-shirts, decorative pillows and reconstructed jewelry.
