LOUIS KATZ
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Louis's comedy career began at the incredibly early age of 9 when as part of a school project he submitted several jokes to "The Tonight Show," two of which were read on air by Johnny Carson.  After graduating from UC Berkeley, he began performing stand-up throughout the Bay Area and quickly made a name for himself. He is now a professional comedian based in New York who can be seen at clubs and colleges across the country. Louis has performed at the Montreal "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival, the Atlanta "Laffapalooza" Comedy Festival, the Amsterdam "Toomler International" Comedy Festival and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. He has appeared on NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly," Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," Jamie Foxx's "America's Funniest Comics," and HBO's "Down & Dirty w/Jim Norton." His half-hour "Comedy Central Presents" special airs in early 2011, coinciding with the release of his debut comedy album, "If These Balls Could Talk," on Comedy Central Records. Louis also produced a series of short films for Adult Swim's superdeluxe.com ; , which can now be seen at youtube.com/louiskatzcomedy .

Rich is a force of nature that rips across the stage leaving laughter, tears and applause in his wake. His comedy career began with a sewing machine while attending the Fashion Institute Of Technology. He began performing stand-up at campus events and then became the costume designer for comedian Judy Tenuta. He then started performing with Judy as her "love slave" backup dancer, appearing in venues across the country, in Las Vegas and on The Howard Stern Show and a he's never left the stage since. His one man show, Unaccessorized, received the Overall Excellence Award at the NY International Fringe Festival and Best Solo Show at the Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival. Rich has performed on campuses and venues across the USA, Canada, China and the Philippines.  He is a frequent guest on Sirius XM Satellite Radio's OutQ: The Focus Group, was featured on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,  and co-hosted the WE channel's 3 Men And A Chick Flick. www.RichKiamco.com

SAMANTHA DeROSE
Samantha's observational comedy style includes musings about motherhood, work, pop-culture, politics, family, and inner (self-deprecating) reflections.  You might even be sucked into a sing-along at one of her gigs if she brings her guitar.  She has performed for audiences ranging from elementary, middle, high school, and college students to the PTA, to charity fundraisers (Salzano-Smith Foundation), to the LGBT community (Crown & Anchor, Provincetown; MA, Stonewall Inn, NYC), Women's History Benefits (Manhattan Theatre Source) to edgy NY and NJ audiences (Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Red Cat, NJ, Pat's Place, NJ, Zebu's, NJ).  Samantha will appearing in cities all over the US in the Divas of Diversity 2011 Comedy Tour.

ABBI CRUTCHFIELD
Abbi performs stand-up comedy all over New York City and was recently named in the New York Post's Best Jests list. She has been seen on VH1, MTV, the Tyra Banks show and in several national commercials.

KELLEY LYNN
Kelley is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer performing all over the East Coast. Her YouTube Channel caught the eye of Opie from XM/Sirius The Opie and Anthony Show, who featured her in one of his recent videos, with more to come this month. Kelley is also a comedy writer for the pop culture site www.poptimal.com where she writes hilarious weekly reviews of "Dancing With the Stars" and "American Idol."

Nimbus Dance Works, Jersey City's premier dance company, announces its 2011 Jersey City Home Season, featuring an array of dance works by choreographers from four distinct cultural traditions. Kicking off on June 9, 2011 with an Opening Night Celebration, and featuring works by renowned choreographers Pedro Ruiz, Zhang Xiao-xiong, Jean Paul Jr., and Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott, these performances allow Nimbus dancers to display the full range of their impressive capabilities.

The program features a world premiere by Latin choreographer Pedro Ruiz, showcasing the sophisticated grace of the Cuban “Danzón” style. The flowing, martial-art-inspired movements of Xiao-xiong Zhang's “Butterfly Dream” bring to Jersey City a piece that thrilled audiences when it was performed last summer at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. John Paul Jr.'s “Priye Ginen” highlights Nimbus' dancers' thrilling intensity as they push their physical limits to a percussive Haitian score. The program is rounded out by the Nimbus company premiere of Samuel Pott's poignant and historically insightful “Bloodlines 1944.” This quintessentially American work conjures up the year 1944 through a montage of memory and fantasy in the mind of a World War II soldier at sea in the Pacific.

MORA: THE CAMERA'S EYE ON THE OTHER ARTS, opening reception

The Camera's Eye on the Other Arts presents contemporary photographers spanning three generations, ranging from eminent masters to emerging talents. In the works presented here, they turn their lenses to the creations of artists working in other artistic modes. The photographer's art can capture the real and the unreal, and it has a special capacity to preserve moments of artistic creation, to reveal symmetries and asymmetries, rhythms and harmonies in the world and in man's creations.

Photographers show us art in idiosyncratic and revealing ways. THE ACTORS SHAKESPEARE COMPANY AT NEW JERSEY CITY UNIVERSITY CONTINUES ITS SEASON WITH  THE MILLIONAIRESS, A PLAY BY GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

Performances are scheduled at two venues in close proximity to each other and occur on the same weekend

JERSEY CITY, NJ (May 11, 2011) – Actors Shakespeare Company at New Jersey City University, a professional theatre company in residence at the University, will continue its Lab Project series for Season 2010-2011 with a presentation of George Bernard Shaw’s “The Millionairess,” Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in NJCU’s West Side Theatre, 285 West Side Avenue in Jersey City.  There will be also be a performance at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Congregation B’nai Jacob, 176 West Side Avenue in Jersey City.  Admission is free and open to the community.
     ASC at NJCU Lab Projects enable artists to explore new material, take a fresh look at Shakespeare’s canon, hone new skills, and test new forms.  A question-and-answer session is held with the actors following each performance.
The final months of ASC at NJCU’s 2010-2011 season will include two more Lab Projects: Israel Zang’s “The Melting Pot,” June 5; and Tom Stoppard’s “Arcadia,” June 22-26.

NJCU’s West Side Theatre is conveniently located near Culver Avenue (on the NJCU campus), just minutes from Routes 440 and 1-9, exit 15E of the N.J. Turnpike, and exit 14B of the N.J. Turnpike extension I-78.  There is ample parking in the University’s parking lot on West Side and Audubon Avenues.  However,  from May 10 to May 22, the West Side Avenue parking lots will be closed and shuttle service will be suspended.  Free parking will be available in the parking garage in the Michael B. This exhibit will feature work from artists residing or working in an art studio in Brooklyn or Jersey City Heights. Although it’s certainly New York, Brooklyn has it’s own culture, a distinct art scene and a flavor all its own. The Heights is a district at the end of Jersey City that overlooks Hoboken and has been described as the new Brooklyn because it is a diverse community being transformed by the energy of it’s residents both old and new. Artists have always been at the heart of community change. The title of this show is a play on words that seeks to highlight and build a bridge between Brooklyn and the Heights -- let’s hang at the Distillery.

Eligibility: This call is open to all visual artists residing or working in an artist studio in Brooklyn, New York or Jersey City Heights. Seeking works of art in all media.

Starting at the age of 6 in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan (Founder Hwang Kee) and additionally studied in Jeet Kune Do, Aikido, Karate Do and Kyokushin. A frequent competition participant with multiple awards in Hyung, Traditional Hyung and Free Sparring. Instructor Ahlers continues to train and teach his first love Tang Soo Do with his unlimited passion and enthusiasm.
