Green Teen Music and Art Festival

The 3rd Annual Green Teen Music and Arts Festival is an opportunity for local teenagers to showcase their musical and artistic talents in an eco-friendly community event. The festival will feature live music and artwork by teens, which will be for sale along with refreshments and snacks.
All proceeds will go toward planting trees locally and around the country with the charities Friends of Liberty State Park and American Forests. In the past two years, we raised over $5000 and this year we hope to raise even more!
$5 suggested donation.

Pack, up you bathing suits, break out the hoodies, and come celebrate the end of an amazing Slam season with us! This week we are bringing it back to the traditional slam in preparation for the beginning of our new slam season! What does that mean? You know the drill by now! Two rounds of competition with the top two scoring poets going into a finl round. There will be no points awarded for this slam but if you are consider...ing slamming for the 2012 team, this is a great chance to try out new stuff, make sure you piece is under 3:10, or embrace the feeling of being judged by your peers!
Slam list opens at 9, you must be there and have paid admission in order to get on the list! As always, we will have a brief open mic before the slam. All forms of stage performance are welcome!

**All Proceeds Go Into The Jersey City Slam Fund to send our representatives to qualifying events!**

FIRE IT UP! It's what we have been waiting for! The 2011 Jersey City Slam Team is going to unleash their talent for a special preview of what Boston has in store for them this year! Come out and support our team as they take down teams from New York, Philly and New Jersey for the title of best in the region!
Because we are expecting everyone to come out and support the team we are moving this slam to a special night for this... week only! SATURDAY, JULY 23 doors will open at 8:00 pm! We will also be showcasing the best of the best at ART HOUSE PRODUCTIONS, located at 1 McWilliams Place (right by Hamilton Park!).
Snacks, beverages and wonderful baked treats will be provided by Judy's Goodies!
Admission will be $5. As always, all proceeds go towards the JC Slam fund and sending our team to Boston where they will be representing us in the 2011 National Poetry Slam this August!
