Bike JC

Come celebrate with us! Bike JC will host a holiday and anniversary party and fundraiser at Barcade in Downtown Jersey City, this Thursday, 7-10 p.m.

Join us to celebrate our fourth anniversary, and also the installation of the very first racks funded by Jersey City's Bike Rack Fund, which was a Bike JC initiative. (They're the two shiny new ones just outside the bar!)

We'll also be raising money for the rack fund. There will be a raffle featuring donated bike swag from Grove Street Bicycles and Jersey Cycles, as well as some other nice items, and we'll receive a portion of drink proceeds thanks to Barcade!

All are welcome; admission is free. Come out, bring friends, have a craft beer, and talk bikes with us!

Barcade, at the corner of Newark Avenue and Barrow Street, offers an extensive and ever-changing selection of American craft beers along with sandwiches, snacks and other suitable accompaniments, surrounded by a small army of genuine arcade video games.

Bike JC celebration !

Come join other members, friends, and curious supporters of Bike JC on
October 23 at the Golden Cicada, from 4-7 pm. A portion of drink proceeds go to Bike JC.

Consider submitting your wheels for the Bike Show, where bikes will be admired and even voted on, with the winner gaining a Bike JC t-shirt, a drink, and an expedited Ward Tour entry. To enter the Bike Show, send the story of your bike, along with a photo, to chris@bikejc.org.

A casual ride beforehand starts at 3 pm at Grand and Jersey and goes through Liberty State Park and back.

Jersey City BIKE Tour - May 23rd

We are hosting the first ever Jersey City Ward Tour on May 23. This ten-mile ride will pass through five of the six wards of the city (and touch wheels very close to the sixth) and will start and finish at Exchange Place, 11 am to 1 pm. At the finish there will be a bike rodeo for kids, sponsored by the Jersey City Police Department; a BMX demo, run by Grove Street Bicycles; music, excellent food for sale, and tables for local nonprofits and civic groups to present themselves.

The Ward Tour will cap off a week of events for Bike to Work Week in Jersey City. We want to promote the Ward Tour as effectively as possible, through cards, flyers, posters, the web site, web initiatives, and word of mouth. We hope you can help with the last item, simply by keeping tabs on the day and talking it up to friends and colleagues. We also hope you may be able to help more concretely, by thinking of any potential sponsors whose donation would help defray printing and insurance costs. (We are not yet 501c3 so the donations are not tax-deductible, but any funder gets its name displayed on our Ward Tour promotions/in various media.)

EasyRiders, who are already involved)--or run a local business yourself and want to be involved.
