Arts District Zoning for the Heights – Make it a Reality
If you are an artist and have lived or had a studio space in the Heights at any time–we need to hear from you!
The Distillery Gallery & Artspace recently obtained variances from the Board of Adjustment, designating the gallery as commercial property and paving the way for its re-opening this fall. During the preparation of the application it was brought to light that the Distillery was already part of an existing “Riverview Arts District”, established in May of 1984 by Council Resolution. In order to make the “Riverview Arts District” a reality and nurture the Heights artist community, we’re asking for your help in providing clarity to the following questions via survey about artistic production and live/work space. All responses are anonymous and will remain confidential. Please make sure that other artists you know answer the survey as well, by sharing this link with others via email or by posting on social networks and/or websites.
Dear Fish, Just caught up on a Google Alert from 3/9 & saw that you mentioned us for Lucky7s that night. It was an absolute cracker of a night - I ended up on the bar & we had the place grinning from ear to ear. It was one of the best shows of our 1st US tours in terms of fun!
Thanks so much for mentioning us. Really appreciated. We're coming back to the US in September & it's always good to know that someone has seen the name before (they may not remember it, but it could be buried somewhere down in someone's psyche!).
Much appreciated. - Max The On Fires (Australia)
12/2/2010 It's making me nostalgic. I miss Lucky 7s!!
I'm hoping we'll be back in April for the 3rd time at that wonderful little bar. We're back in Australia now (& it's summer; yay!).
Just wanted you to know your blog gets read all over the world! Best, - Max
